It generally takes over a billion years for a diamond to form. Yet in just 22 years, Diamante has already begun to show her rock ‘n’ roll sparkle. With her bright blue hair, show-stopping voice, runway-ready fashion swagger, and empowering message, the Boston-raised and Los Angeles-based Mexican-Italian-American sonic heroine brings a new (and blue) fire to rock and alternative music.
Diamante has just taken a giant leap forward in her steadily burgeoning career by releasing the brand new song “When I’m Not Around.” Listen to the track here. Watch the official music video below.
The song was written by legendary songwriter Diane Warren, one of the most celebrated, decorated, and successful songwriters of the modern era. Her impressive resume includes dozens of multi-platinum smash hits and pop culture touchstones like “Because You Loved Me” (Celine Dion), “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” (Aerosmith), and many others.
“‘When I’m Not Around’ is an incredibly special song, and the moment I listened to it, Diane [Warren]’s lyrics instantly resonated with me,” says Diamante. “The song perfectly describes my experience with love time and time again: constantly feeling unappreciated by someone who doesn’t know what they have until it’s gone. I knew the song would be vocally challenging to record, and because of that, I feel I was really able to pour my soul into the song through the vocal delivery.”
Warren gushes about Diamante’s vocal performance on “When I’m Not Around,” saying,“Diamante sings this song with so much passion that she will make you believe every word with every note.”
“When I’m Not Around” arrives in time for Diamante’s fall 2019 tour with Breaking Benjamin and select dates with fellow female rocker Dorothy. All Diamante tour dates below.
Diamante’s well-received debut album Coming in Hot is out now. As a disciple of both P!nk and Guns N’ Roses, Diamante devoted every waking minute to honing a signature “classic rock sound with a modern alternative edge” on her debut. The title track boasts arena-sized hooks, while “Fight Like a Girl” is as anthemic as its gets. “Had Enough” is equal parts angst and groove, while “Kind of Love” packs a classic rock punch. “I’m Sorry” and “Black Heart” are ballads that offer a look at who Diamante is under that leather-studded surface. Meanwhile, “Lo Siento,” the Spanish version of “I’m Sorry,” shows the singer expressing the other side of herself and her heritage.
Diamante has accumulated 4 million streams combined on Spotify as she continues to win fans over with every show she plays.
Press praise for Coming in Hot is as follows:
“Coming in Hot is an excellent showcase for the raw power of her voice, which at times recalls Melissa Etheridge and Sass Jordan blended with the dispassionate elan of Blondie’s Debbie Harry,” raved Billboard, while Guitar Girl stated the “her new album is anthemic to the lost lustre of rock, and this rock beauty is bringing it back.” Powerplay said it best when it proclaimed that Diamante “will inspire a new generation” of rockers.
