HBO’s ‘Succession: The Complete Series’ Comes Finally Comes Home! [Blu-ray Review]

The wait is finally over, so let’s collectively exhale, shall we? “Succession,” the critically acclaimed HBO drama, is now available on Blu-ray! Created by Jesse Armstrong, the series debuted in 2018 and introduced viewers to the Roy family, owners of Waystar RoyCo, a global media and entertainment conglomerate. At the center of the story is Logan Roy, the powerful and ruthless patriarch whose declining health raises questions about the future leadership of his empire. His four adult children—Kendall, Roman, Shiv, and Connor—are all vying for control, each bringing unique ambitions, flaws, and complexities to the power struggle. As they jostle for position, they grapple with loyalty, betrayal, and the overwhelming influence of their father’s legacy, providing a rich exploration of wealth, privilege, and the personal costs of relentless ambition.

The “Succession: The Complete Series” marks the first time the series has been available in Blu-ray format, something fans have been clamoring for quite some time. If you’re already a fan, you know that what sets this series apart from its peers is its powerhouse ensemble cast. Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, Alan Ruck, Matthew Macfadyen, Nicholas Braun, J. Smith-Cameron, Peter Friedman, David Rasche, and Fisher Stevens deliver standout performances. “Succession” keeps viewers hooked with unexpected twists and constantly shifting power dynamics as each family member schemes to outmaneuver the others. With captivating performances and razor-sharp writing, it’s no wonder the series earned 75 Emmy® nominations and 19 wins over its four-season run.

THE VERDICT: The box set includes all 39 episodes, unique features such as “Inside the Episode” featurettes, character recaps, and interviews with the talented cast and crew. The near-perfect picture and sound add to the overall experience. Plenty of shows are ready for binge-watching, but this is the one if you’re looking for a series worthy of an actual deep dive! Of course, if you’re a connoisseur of physical media, waste no time in grabbing this one before it disappears from store shelves.
