Hot on the heels of the release of her debut album, powerhouse vocalist Chloe Lowery has just released the first installment of her new series, “Chloe Covers.” This time around Chloe has lent her considerable talents to a mind-blowing performance of Lizzo’s hit single “Truth Hurts.”
On the surprising cover, Chloe had this to say: Lizzo – What a gift you are to us all! I have been a fan for some time now and the moment I heard “Truth Hurts” while watching “Someone Great” on Netflix I just knew you were a force to be reckoned with. What you stand for and the positivity you bring to the game makes me proud to be part of our music community. I know this isn’t a cover most of you are expecting from me but I LOVE this song and it was fun to interpret! Here’s is my one mic one take of “Truth Hurts” with my buddy Aurelien Budynek who also helped me with the arrangement!
Icon Vs. Icon caught up with Chloe earlier this year to discuss her debut album and you can click here to get the scoop! The deeply personal concept album was born from a journey of self-discovery following an emotional heartbreak. From the debut single “Renegade” to the vibrant “Crazy” (featuring guitar legend Al Pitrelli) to the cinematic duet “Giving Up On You” featuring Nathan James (Inglorious, Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Chloe builds a narrative that offers a personal look at her metamorphosis. The most powerful and personal of the tracks, “Don’t Let Yourself Down,” took shape from words that Chloe’s mother said to her in one of her saddest moments. The song serves as a catalyst for the rest of the album and has a universal meaning far beyond the initial intention. The In-Between is now available at www.chloelowery.com.
