Staind, Live From Mohegan Sun, is now available on DVD and Blu-ray. This concert was recorded and filmed in high definition at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Montville, Connecticut on November 25, 2011, and the chords must still be echoing somewhere deep within the bowels of the building.
Raw, uncompromising, loud, and totally, energetically exciting, Staind pulls out all the stops in this sixteen-song set. Singer/guitarist Aaron Lewis, lead guitarist Mike Mushok and bassist Johnny April pummel through a career-spanning set that includes “It’s Been Awhile” “Not Again,” “Eyes Wide Open,” “Right Here” and “So Far Away.” Drummer Sal Giancarelli gives a swift kick and a solid boost (replacing original drummer Jon Wysocki who left the band last May).
Having sold over 15 million records worldwide since their inception in Springfield, MA in 1995, Staind have recorded seven studio albums: Tormented (1996), Dysfunction (1999), Break The Cycle (2001), 14 Shades Of Grey (2003), Chapter V (2005), The Illusion of Progress (2008) and Staind (2011). They’ve had eight top ten singles across multiple formats with three songs hitting number one, and wrote the most-played rock song of the past decade, “It’s Been Awhile.”
In addition to these Live From Mohegan Sun releases, Staind will hit the road this summer as part of the Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival, sharing the main stage with Shinedown and Godsmack. This makes 2012 THE year to experience Staind live.
